Care
How do I clean the fabric on my bag?
The cotton weave is finished with a water-repellent coat, so most light spills can be dabbed away with a tissue. For stains, apply a thin layer of Vanish liquid stain remover to the fabric only — avoid the leather — and gently brush with a soft toothbrush in circular motions. Apply clean water to dilute, continue brushing, then dab with tissue. Repeat until no stickiness remains. Dry with a hair dryer on low heat held at a distance. Never soak the bag.
How do I care for the leather parts?
Blot with a soft damp cloth — do not soak. Air dry in a shaded area away from direct sunlight. Use a rubber eraser to remove scuffs after drying, then apply a leather lotion or Stay Clean to recondition. Keep away from alcohol and store away from direct sunlight.
How do I maintain the fabric over time?
Occasionally spray the cotton weave with a fabric protector like Scotchguard to maintain water repellency. For pilling on the weave over time, use a fabric shaver. Keep the bag away from dark-dyed materials — contact may permanently discolor the weave.
Is there a warranty on the bags?
Yes. Torboon guarantees all physical components required for proper functioning for 2 years from the date of purchase, excluding parts sourced outside their workshop.
How should I store my bag?
Store in the dust bag provided, away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity. In damp storage areas, place desiccant packets inside to prevent moisture damage.
The Bags
Where are Kaluna Tree bags made?
All bags are made by Torboon, a craft studio in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The cotton weave is done on traditional handlooms by local artisans, and the leather work is done in the same atelier.
What materials are the bags made from?
The body of each bag is woven from 100% cotton yarn using traditional handloom techniques, finished with a water-repellent coat. Leather parts are genuine nappa leather. Over 85% of each bag is biodegradable.
Are the bags sustainable?
Torboon uses 100% cotton yarn, genuine nappa leather sourced as a by-product from beef production, water-based glue, and reclaimed rosewood hardware. They hold a Green Production Certificate from Thailand's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Are the bags limited edition?
Each fabric pattern and leather color combination is produced in limited quantity. Once a batch sells out it may not be restocked.
Can I see the bags in person before buying?
Yes — visit our store in Hamra, Beirut. We carry the full collection and you're welcome to take your time.
